Working together for a better world is one of the greatest gifts we can give to each other and, more importantly, to future generations. In 2015, world leaders agreed to 17 Global Goals for a better world by 2030. It is the most ambitious agreement for sustainable development ever adopted, with the aim that by 2030, the world will eradicate poverty and hunger, realise the human rights of all, reduce inequalities and injustice around the world, achieve gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls, and ensure the lasting protection of the planet and its natural resources.
However, to implement the Global Goals, funding is needed. This is where the Addis Ababa Action Agenda (AAAA) comes in. It is a global framework with the aim of addressing the dual challenge of both mobilising societies’ resources for sustainability, and doing this in a manner that leaves no one behind.

Sweden is pushing for implementation of both the 2030 Agenda and the Global Goals, and the Addis Ababa Action Agenda nationally, in the EU and globally.
